Truly the best lens DSLR problems left to a professional camera repair shop, but there are some simple steps that you can do at home to determine whether your DSLR Nikon lenses really need an expensive repair.
How to :
- Make sure the lens is on the right setting for the camera body. Lens with a diaphragm adapted to specific settings must be configured to work with DSLR.
- Reset the camera. This will reset the settings and the focus lens metering grid.
- Remove the lens from the camera body. If the focus ring gets stuck, do not force the lens to move or you could cause damage to both the camera and lens. After the lens is removed, place the protective cap over the camera lens mount the body.
- Check the lens for any dirt, rubbish or dust that can interfere with lens functions.
- Look for dirt and sand that is trapped inside a moving lens element, such as the focus ring.
- Send the lens to the official repair services if the cleaning and resetting the lens does not produce satisfactory results.
